Church Among The Palms (CAP) 2010 Family Retreat (Theme : Enjoying God's Love Together)

All members are invited to join the annual family retreat on May 1 2010 from 8am to 3:20pm.  This year's theme is 'Enjoying God's Love Together' based on Philippians 2:1-2.  The general objective is to strengthen our fellowship and bonding as God's family.  Come join and share in a special luncheon and exciting family fellowship activities and contests (e.g. Pork barbeque contest for families interested in sharing family marinating recipes; watermelon and melon contest for youth and kids).  Registration is required for all contests participants.  The schedule is as follows;

Church Among The Palms (CAP) Children's Fellowship

The Church Among the Palms (CAP) will be having the CAP Children's Fellowship on March 13 2010 Saturday at the CAP-CSI Gymnasium from 8:30am to 3:00pm.  This year's theme is, 'Mga Batang CAP, Sama-samang nagpapaunlad ng Pananampalataya.'  (Inspired from the Bible Passage : 'Patuloy na lumaki si Hesus, umunlad ang kanyang karunungan at lalong kinalugdan ng Diyos at ng mga tao')

Liturgist Workshop at Church Among the Palms (CAP)

The Church Among the Palms (through its Fellowship Groups) held last month of February 2010, the Liturgist Workshop. 

The Flow of the Liturgy (United Church of Christ Book of Worship) generally flows according to the following outline :

PRELUDE AND GREETINGS - The Liturgist will greet the congregation verbally or read the greeting 'A Warm welcome to everyone as we celebrate...'

PRAISE & ADORATION (Isaiah 6:3-4) - Hymns and Songs of Praise, Invocation

CONFESSION (Isaiah 6:5-7) - Call to Confession, Prayers for Mercy, Assurance of Pardon

OBEDIENCE / SHARING OF GOD'S GRACE (Matthew 5:23-24 & John 15:12) - Passing of the Peace, Community Sharing, Act of Praise (Gloria Patri/Praise and Worship), Pastoral/Community at Prayer

TEACHING/INSTRUCTION OF THE WORD (Isaiah 6:8a) - Scripture Reading (Begin with 'The Word of the Lord found in the Book of ______; and and with 'May the Lord Bless us On the Reading of the Word.), Message through Song (Anthem), Sermon, Testimony.

Lets Pray for Pastor Billy Veloso's son Yoyong

Yoyong Veloso's kidney transplant operation will be on March 10 2010.  Let us continue to pray that the operation will be a success - for God's Glory!!!

Church Among The Palms - Christian Youth Fellowship Crossover Basketball Tournament 2010

The Championship and the 3 Point Shootout schedule will be rescheduled from February 20 2010 to February 27 2010 to give way to the forthcoming examination period of the participants.  See you there!!

Mitzi Pollisco

Praise be to GOD!  On our Vesper service last Sunday Feb 14 2010,  our sister Mitzi Pollisco attended the service and it was a real blessing!!!   Let us keep praying for her complete recovery.

Seven Pillars of Society

The Congregation is invited to join the Prayer Groups praying for the Seven Pillars of Society.  You may approach the following group leaders: Church - Angie Go; Family - Claire Ramos and Vicky Palis; Government - Jonaz Labastilla; Economy and Business - Tito Contado and Mely Hoque; Media and Entertainment - Pina Rasco and Nitnit Baldrias; Education, Arts, Culture and Sports - Kaye Robertson and Lou Contado; Science and Technology - Mely Hoque and Judy Buresh.  This is a call for everyone to pray for our Filipino people and our country towards 'rebuilding of the wall of righteousness that guards the land.'

The CAP Fellowship groupings are a way of ministering to the members of the Church, encouraging fellowship by organizing them according to their areas of residence.  All members of the Congregation are encouraged to be part of their respective fellowship groups where they are located.  These are as follows:

Paskuhan 2009

We praise GOD for the successful Community Christmas Service, Fellowship and Gift-Giving (Paskuhan) held last Tuesday, Dec 29.  Our Church was able to prepare 308 white gift bags containing rice, instant noodles, biscuits, sugar, coffee, powdered milk, Milo and canned goods.  We were also able to prepare 100 children's bags containing biscuits, candies and juice.  We would also like to thank those who gave donations and those who helped in the repacking and distribution of goods.
